As the marketing director of Spedagi – bamboo bike for village revitalization, I was invited to talk about the business aspect of our bamboo bike project on the 2nd International Conference on Village Revitalization (ICVR) held in Ato Village, Yamaguchi, Japan. This would be the first time I set foot in the Land of the Rising Sun.
One week before the departure, I listed down the items that should be brought to Japan and packed them soon. I usually pack my belongings just one day before going on a trip, but this time was different. Since it's my first experience traveling to Japan and I had another event and appointment in 2 different cities before flying there, I need to be well-prepared to avoid any rush or left-behind things.
It seems that there were always something that I forgot to put in or need to do during the preparation until I consider myself to be done and ready to go. It felt so calm when we are well-prepared.
I was wondering... what if we knew when we will leave this world, forever, just like when we know the schedule of our upcoming trip? Would we prepare long before the d-day? One day, would, or perhaps, could I consider myself to be done and ready to go?
I imagine that I would have numerous things to do and it would increase as time goes by approaching the d-day. Still, we could manage the schedule, when will we do this and that, if we knew the time. Yet in fact, we don't know when we will die. Does the preparation become more dense? Or will we even prepare for this special trip?
Well, let's just do our best.
